Chaos Coating is a crafted consumable item. It does not stack with other imbuements. The most recently consumed one will override the other. In the 1.1 October patch its damage was reduced to 40% from 50%.
Effect
Imbue your equipped weapon with blazing chaos. Your next primary attack triggers a dealing 40% magic damage in an area and inflicting . The on hit effect recharges every 12s and the imbuement lasts for 60 minutes. Effect persists through death.
